October 2007

The Season closed on October 27th.
Several fish in the 4 to 6lb range were taken, the largest being a 6lb 4oz fish caught by Trevor Bensley. The Blues again provided excellent sport through the season.

The average catch per rod visit during October was 2.54 and the overall average catch per rod visit for the Season was 2.89

The catch returns indicate that 92% of the fish stocked were caught - the surviving fish are being fed through the Winter.

The 2008 Season will open on March 8th.
We expect that there will be a few vacancies for rods in 2008.

September 2007

The Lakes have produced some excellent fish in the 5 and 6lb range. The best fish, a 6lb specimen Rainbow, was taken by Arthur Hedges.
Again Buzzer patterns have taken their fair share during the month. Hoppers and Nymph patterns have also produced good returns.

The average for the month was 2.98 per rod visit. The Seasons average is running at 2.95 per rod visit.

In one week over 300 fish were caught. September has proved to be an excellent month.

August 2007

The weather has been a big influence on the lakes this month with the fish livening up and producing some good sport.
Buzzers and Damsels are producing good results the patterns featuring Green or Red appear to be to the fishes taste. Several fish in the 3lb plus range have been taken from both lakes.

The average for the month was 2.7 per rod visit. The Seasons average stands at 2.96 per rod visit.

July 2007

Both lakes have fished reasonably well during the month. Several fish around 3 1/2lb to 4lb plus have been taken.
Most patterns of weighted flies have produced some good catches. Buzzers, GRHE and PTN patterns have also played their part.

The average for the month is 2.5 per rod visit and the average for the season now stands at 3.05.

June 2007

In spite of the weather both lakes have provided some excellent sport and catches during the month. Mr G Peek landed the largest fish which weighed in at 4lbs 8 ozs. Mr D Morgan was close behind with a 4lb specimen. 6 fish weighing in at 3lb plus have been taken
Buzzers and Pheasant Tails have produced good returns and the old favorite Vivas and montanas have also featured. Patterns with Red and Green appear to be the preferred type.

The monthly average is 3.3 per rod visit and the average for the season now stands at 3.17.

May 2007

Both lakes have produced good results this month. Several good fish have been taken with the best weighing in at 4 lbs. 8 ozs.
The usual Buzzers and Pheasant Tail patterns have all produced good results. Blood worm,Damsel and GRHE patterns have been among the favourite patterns.

The average catch per rod visit for the season is 3.33 and for the month is 3.2

April 2007

The first stocking of blues has added to the excitement and several very good fish have been taken.
The fish are reacting well to the usual buzzer and Pheasant tailed nymph patterns. Patterns that feature Green or Red have produced good results.
The largest fish landed was a 6lb 8oz rainbow this was taken by a visitor.

The average return per rod visit for the season is 3.34 and for the month is 3.355

At the moment we have a limited number of vacancies for Season tickets

March 2007

The season opened on schedule on March 10th.
Both Lakes are crystal clear and there is a good flow of water.
The over wintered stock have been putting in appearances and some excellent fish have been taken.
The largest fish of the month which was an over-wintered rainbow was taken by Peter Ainge on the opening day - it weighed in at 6 1/2lbs.
The favoured flies have been buzzers and nymphs.
The lakes were visited by 31 anglers on the opening day and 122 fish were taken.

226 Rod visits have produced an average of 3.55 fish per visit.
